Saltram Conservation...
is situated in South West London and brings together Conservators with a wide variety of specialisms, experience and expertise. Many of our conservators have been recognised for the high quality of their work by being invited to become members of the Art Worker's Guild and achieving Accredited Status from the UK Institute of Conservation. All conservators have the skills to be able to take on a broad range of complex objects and artworks and achieve outstanding results.
Our core value at Satram Conservation is excellence in all we do. Our experts have exceptional craftsmanship and hand skills. Respecting the original master craftsmen and the philosophy of traditional techniques is important to us. We are careful to undertake continuing specialist professional development to maintain ancient and intricate skills and to ensure we are the very best we can be. But we also respect the advances the modern world has made and the materials that are available to us now. We believe in navigating a careful balance between the traditional and the modern in our treatment of objects. An object's future stability is as important to us as its appearance on leaving the studio.
At the core of our work is your object. And the relationship that we build is one of trust, collaborating from the outset, so that it's clear what to expect from working with us. At Saltram Conservation our comprehensive offer allow us to take on work of any size from intricate single pieces to major conservation projects as well as general cabinet work and finishing. Skills include:
Japanning, Oriental lacquer, Painted/glazed surface furniture and objects, Marquetry, Fretwork, Boulle-work, Gilding, Verre Églomisé Gilding, Penwork
